Q. How much experience do you have in graphic design?
A. I graduated in 1998 with a two year Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design/Commercial Art. Most of the time since then I have been working full time as a web-based freelance graphic designer.
Q. What information do you need to give me a price quote for my company logo design?
A. I need a little background information on your company: Your product or service; who your customers are; the image you want to project to those customers; if you already have ideas for your logo; how much time is allowed for the project; how many designs you would like created to begin the process.
Q. How soon will I receive the first drafts for my design?
A. This would depend on the type of work you need, how complex the design and how many first drafts are expected. Here is a general guide to follow:
5 concepts for logo design: 3-5 days
3 concepts for magazine ad design: 2-4 days
3 concepts for website: 10 days
Q. What is meant by revisions to a design?
A. Revisions are modifications made by request to a design or designs of your choosing.
Q. Is there a limit on how many revisions you will make before charging additional fees?
A. Normally, no limit is set for this. I work to see the project through to completion.
Q. If I change my mind about a particular design after you've made revisions to it, can I request an entirely new design to be drawn up without being charged extra money?
A. Yes. If you decide a design is not working out even after we've made changes and adjustments, a new design or designs can be drawn up at no additional charge.
Q. Other design companies say they will put three or more designers on my project. Do you ever hire other designers to assist with the work?
A. Not at this time. I've found it best to do all the work myself. Overseeing the work of additional designers can slow down the design process rather than speed things up. Working by myself, I am able to keep cost to a minimum while producing high quality work in a timely manner.
Q. Is your design business home based or do you work out of an office?
A. I work out of my home. This helps keep client cost to a minimum as there is very little overhead.
Q. After receiving a quote, how do I pay for a design project and when can you start?
A. After we agree on cost, I'll set up a secure payment page on this site for online payment or you can mail a check. I will begin work as soon as payment is received and we have come to terms on the direction your design should proceed.
Q. How do you provide me with the files needed for printing or online publishing of the final work?
A. Your digital files will be sent via email and/or mailed on CD, whatever your preference.
Q. What software do you use and what digital formats do you provide for a logo design?
A. Adobe Illustrator is my program of choice for logo design. It is easy to work with and I can create the design in a scaleable format. I can provide you with Ai, EPS, PDF, JPG, TIF, ICO and GIF. I may also use Adobe Fireworks (PNG) or Photoshop (PSD), depending on the situation.
Q. Say I change my mind about having you work for me: What is your policy for refunds?
A. Your satisfaction is of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure you are happy with the work. But in the event that you wish to cancel your design project before any changes have been requested to the first design concepts and you have not made a request for additional designs or revisions, you may request to have all work stopped and your money refunded, minus a 30% cancellation fee.
